The Invisibility Collective is a collaborative group of nationally acclaimed artists, curators, and social activists exploring the deep experiences and complexity of the concept of Invisibility. I will be participating in their inaugural exhibition with works from my CONFLICT ZONE series.

This exhibition looks at various ways that people express their feelings about being seen and not being seen and the intersection of the two worlds. Artists include: Lonnie Graham, Susan R. Kirshenbaum, Rhiannon Evans MacFadyen, Samira Shaheen, Angela Tirrell, Mary Graham, Sophia Green, Rell Rushin, Sawyer Rose, John Stone, Christopher M. Tandy and Nancy Willis.

Excursion à Paris CLOSING THIS WEEKEND!

Solo Exhibition
Paintings and works on paper inspired by the City of Light
July 3 - August 16, 2020

CHATEAU ON THE SQUARE
453 1st St W, Sonoma, CA 95476

I have been fortunate to make annual trips to Paris and see how light moves along the streets, between iconic architecture and across candle lit tables in cafes. Showing my work in situ at Chateau Sonoma surrounded by all things French will hopefully transport the viewer to another time and place. The work is instilled with the light of hope and the resiliency I have witnessed in the cafe culture of Paris.

I invite you to celebrate the liberté, egalité and fraternité of all people and the revolution that inspired change.

Chateau Sonoma is open daily 10-5. Check their site for special events.

Savor the Moment: Paintings and Prints of Paris

Solo Exhibition
November 21 - December 14, 2019
Pop-up exhibition at Chandra Cerrito / Art Advisors
480 23rd Street, Oakland, CA

The paintings and works on paper in Savor the Moment are inspired by the fleeting and enduring moments of Paris’ 6th Arrondissement. I began this painting series shortly after the terrorist attacks in Paris in 2015. I wanted to close the distance that separated me from the daily lives and rituals that were traumatically impacted by the attacks and challenged my own sense of security about returning to Paris.

This series places the view in the center of the scene - or as a witness to the social exchanges in sidewalk cafes, parks and alleys. The buildings, windows and streets harbor, protect, and release the action. The weather, light and atmosphere activate the scenes.

The viewer may find fraught visual interpretations, but painting the verve and vitality of Paris life has renewed my sense of hope and a commitment to not succumb to fear.
