In this five-session class over seven weeks students will discover new ways to approach their art making. Drawing from a variety of techniques we will work with collage, chin collè printmaking, paint and photo-transfer processes to explore how elements can be layered within a work of art. The class is designed to be fun and experimental. 

Each week, through a series of in-class projects and take-home assignments we will try out a new technique (that also includes using the Takach printing press) and work towards a cohesive final project.  Weekly assignments are done on paper with the final project done on a support of your choice. Format of the class includes group critiques,  lectures & demos to introduce the week’s project. The work of contemporary and historical artists will be presented in class lectures.

You Must be registered before the first class meeting.

 $40. materials fee due to the instructor at first class meeting, includes most support materials but not paint and brushes.
