FRAGILE LIGHT: BEAUTY AT THE EDGE OF UNCERTAINTY OPENS AT NIMBUS ARTS NEW RIVERSIDE STUDIO MARCH 15TH to MARCH 29th
Fragile Light: Beauty at the Edge of Uncertainty is a printmaking project and exhibition that explores the human cost of war and the fragility of democratic systems through layered, hand-pulled monoprints. The work pairs images of bombed domestic spaces from global conflict zones with photographs of chandeliers taken by the artist in France and in the three branches of U.S. government—the White House, the U.S. Capitol, and the Supreme Court. The exhibition will also include art made by kids living in Ukraine.
Programming includes a panel discussion with Bay Area artists who use their practice for activism Thursday March 19th, a Free Family Art-making day Sunday March 22nd. The opening reception is Sunday March 15th from 2 to 5 pm.
